Weekly Principal Message

📣 Families and Wolf Pack Students! Here's What's Happening This Week:

Happy Sunday, Wolf Pack families!

This week we had an amazing time acclimating our new wolves to the Dogwood House experience! After this past Friday, the Wolf Pack is once again House-ready, with all new wolves and 6th graders now entered into the House that Big Wheela chose for them.

This week, Chromebooks will be deployed.

6th graders will receive computers on Sept 1st during their second block.
7th graders will receive theirs on Sept 2nd during their 4th block.
8th grade will receive their computers on Sept 3rd during their 3rd block.

Attention Families: Please sign your technology agreement electronically through ParentSquare.

When you reach the form field asking for a Chromebook number, enter your student's ID number instead.

We will have a House Huddles schedule on Sept. 3rd, and remember that RPS is closed on September 4th and 7th for the Labor Day holiday.

We welcome back our wolves on Tuesday, September 8th.

🚨Lockdown Drills🔒

The Code of Virginia 22.1-137.2 requires every public school to provide the parents/caregivers of enrolled students with at least 24 hours' notice prior to conducting any lockdown drill. It should be noted that the exact date and time are not required components of the code. Notification may be provided utilizing ParentSquare or other communication methods utilized within the school.

What is ParentSquare?

RPS uses ParentSquare to provide school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian, using their preferred email address and phone number. All families are encouraged to access their accounts, update their preferences on when and how they are notified, and download the mobile app.

What Can I Do in ParentSquare?

Receive messages from school via email, text, or app notification;
Choose to receive information as it comes, or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.;

Send payments, sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer, and more, all from your desktop or mobile device.
